Hello From Muizenberg, South Africa.

You will be happy to hear that we all arrived safely into Cape Town on time without any delays or cancellations of flights and we have all settled in fine into to the YWAM community here at Muizenberg. We have been treated with great hospitality from the YWAM base here, although the community is large and there is little space there is a wonderful loving atmosphere.

The local community are very open and are equally welcoming which was expected for this culture and we have found that evangelism has become so much easier because of this welcoming, loving culture. We have wasted no time in getting stuck into reaching out into this community, the two main things we have been doing is prayer walking and train evangelism. The prayer walks have been very exciting as we have all been able to connect with Gods heart for this nation in a very intimate way. Although there are many issues still to be sorted out here we feel there is a great sense of acceptance in the people and that joy is going flood South Africa.

The train evangelism was a new experience to us all as none of us have ever preached before or have very little, let alone on a train. We have been doing this for this past week and it has been incredible to see the willingness of peoples hearts to listen to what we have to say and to respond. There are many wonderful stories I could go into of healings and people coming to Christ more of which I am sure will be revealed in next weeks blog. Be encouraged that peoples lives are beginning to be shaped and we are so very excited to what God is not only doing, but choosing to do through us. One of my most encouraging stories we would like to share with you is the boldness and courage we as a DTS have taken, and we feel we are no longer the same people since we first walked in through YWAM Carlisle’s doors, we have grown so much spiritually. We have also found that preaching can be fun, that it’s easy and that it’s effective.

>>Hallelujah!

Please pray for us to have favor with the people and for Gods protection from sun burn and bites from bugs as for some of us it’s getting quite bad. We truely believe that God is going to do the impossible through us so pray that when the time comes will have the same boldness and courage to fulfill what God is wanting to do. South Africa is God’s nation, please pray that it will be transformed.

We hope you are all well, we are praying for you all.

Many blessings and love,

-Jon (DTS)
